Individual Counseling

Just as we are compelled to understand the world around us, I believe we also yearn for a better understanding of ourselves. Many of us have unresolved feelings about our past experiences and relationships that inform our present way of life. Therapy provides us with a space to bravely engage in self discovery that can lead to personal growth and fulfillment. In individual therapy, I work to help clients honor their authenticity and intentionally forge their own life path to foster feelings of joy and fulfillment.

I provide long-term individual therapy on a weekly basis for adolescents (13+) and adults looking to collaboratively grow towards their personal goals and aspirations. When working with adolescents, I provide developmentally-informed services that help foster wellness and growth. While I work with clients with diverse interests and goals, many of my clients come to me to address concerns in the areas listed below.

Areas of Specialization

  • Anxiety

Living with anxiety often feels like you’re living in your head, and ultimately can get in the way of us reaching our personal goals. I support individuals experiencing general, social, and dating-related anxiety in feeling more present and grounded.

  • Intergenerational Trauma

Trauma responses and relational patterns are often passed down throughout our family and community. I support clients in identifying these patterns and healing them by re-envisioning their family and community relationships.

  • Anger and Resentment

Many of us navigate our lives harboring unresolved anger or resentment that we feel unable to accept or express. I challenge clients to explore what this anger is communicating, in order to feel and express their anger in healthy ways.

  • Identity Development

We all hold unique identities (culture, gender, sexuality, etc.) that inform our experience of the world and ourselves. I provide clients with a space to explore their unique identities and develop their sense of self internally and in community.

  • Parenting

As you support your children, you can also benefit from support in navigating the complexities of being a parent. I help parents navigating stress and life transitions to process their emotions, identify generational patterns, and implement positive parenting practices.

  • Adolescent Therapy

Adolescence is a difficult stage often filled with turmoil, self-doubt, anxiety, and social pressure. I help adolescents name their emotions, navigate identity, learn effective coping tools, and embrace their authenticity.

Pricing

My fees are generally set at $200/ individual therapy session. I accept cash, check, or credit. Please see the insurance statement below and check with your provider to see if you have "out-of-network" benefits if you are seeking insurance reimbursement, as I am not an in-network provider. Please note that I do not have any sliding scale availability at this time.

Using Out-of-network benefits: Clinical Services may be covered in part or in full by your health insurance plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking your provider these questions:

  • Do I have "out-of-network" mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • What is my "co-insurance"?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care doctor?

  • In instances where out-of-network benefits are covered, you will be responsible for payment at the time of service and your insurance will reimburse your expenses.

Benefits to Paying out of Pocket:

Insurance companies mandate a diagnosis, oversee your health records, and may seek access to your information while in therapy. They also may limit your coverage to a set number of therapy sessions per year, regardless of what you're going through. When considering the implications of using insurance, paying out-of-pocket is a better fit for some. Please feel free to call to further discuss any questions.
